Struggling this semester.

Hello everyone,

last semester, i got A's in gen chem 1 and chem lab, bio 1, and stats,B+ in writing and a C in anthropology <- a random general education requirement i was forced to take. Im struggling this semester. I have a C in gen chem 2, a C+ in Zoology, and a C+ in ecology. Did this happen to anyone? I talked to my chem professor and he says im doing well. However, a C in gen chem 2 is not exactly the calibur of students that medical schools look for.. Zoology, i messed up studying on the first exam but im working hard to try and make it up. Ecology, i didnt really study as hard as i could have. What do you guys think i should do to improve my grades, study habit wise. Last semester, i really didn't study that much and was able to get decent grades. Now, im trying pretty hard and im making mediocre grades. Im reading the textbook for chem, doing supplemental problems. For zoology, im review my notes after every lecture and making sure i understand them, the same for ecology. What else can i do to improve my grades? I know that i can do much better due to my performance last semester but what more can i do?

Thanks

Study group, tutor, office hours to ask questions.

I would not solicit prof’s opinion, but focus on material. Use all resources, including prof. to get questions related to material answered. It will pile up, if you do not have good base. Do not wait. Reading is not enough, you should not have single unclear concept going to exam, all your questions need to be cleared.
