I really need some advice.

Here's the deal:

I graduated from undergrad with a 2.5 GPA in 2008. Despite my poor GPA, I've been doing really well in terms of gaining experience for the field I want to go for - I want to apply for a masters program in public health.

I've been talking to a lot of different people and I'm just confused about my chances of getting in. The admissions officers talk a lot about holistic admissions, people tell me I should/should not take some outside classes to bolster my transcript, etc etc and I'm just not sure if everything's worth the trouble, especially if I don't have a crap chance with my GPA. I know a lot of masters programs require a 3.0 minimum. Should I even apply to these schools?

Is there any thing I can do, is there any chance? I want to take a few years off and work, but I doubt that's enough time to completely disregard my crappy grades.

I want to take a GRE class, but before I spend all that money, I need to know if there's a chance.

Can anyone help me, please? Thanks!
