Stuck in North Carolina. Help?

What about UNC-Greensboro? We have friends who sent their son there, and they are pleased with it. I also second Guilford - they will probably offer you enough financial aid to be competitive with public colleges.

congratulations, OP, it’s a very good school.

Congratulations on getting into UNC-Chapel Hill, one of the top public universities in the nation. And thanks for letting us know the outcome of your search! It’s always useful for current high school student in the situation you used to be in just a year ago.

Congrats indeed! I’m not a bit surprised you got in and I congratulate you on that as well as on living in a state with a really good flagship state university! There are only a handful, despite many pretenders.

Fantastic! Congratulations on getting into Chapel Hill!

Lot’s of suggestions re MERIT scholarships have been offered; however, the OP indicates he’s unlikely to be admitted to the in-state “flagship” university. Therefore, presuming he is rejected by UNC-CH, how likely is he to win a MERIT scholarship?

@TopTier, read posts 38-44. The OP got into UNC-CH :">

Guilty. I read the intial pages where the OP indicated that was quite unlikely, but GOOD for him.
