In addition to the tuition insurance question below, also wondering about the University of Rochester Student Advantage Card. Is it worth it, do any U of R or Rochester specific businesses give a special discount, etc. This type of thing always looks good on paper then I end up not using it so much.

I don’t know of any specific Rochester businesses that give discounts. (Disclosure: D2 didn’t have SA card.) Many of the national retailer discounts are available if you shop carefully, use the internet to find coupons or have rewards credit card.

It’s most useful for Amtrak or Greyhound discounts if your student will be traveling by train/bus regularly.

The RED (Rochester Every Day) program offers student discounts at a variety of local restaurants, businesses and entertainment spots. IMO, it’s a much better “deal” than the SA card. (HINT: RED is free to all students)
