My daughter has DA to Farmer and Kelley, and has visited both. We are from the New England. She loves the Miami campus. She’s concerned about a perception of lack of friendliness of At Miami, especially if not joining a sorority. Can anyone comment on direct experience as a student or parent of a current student?
@BruinsFan4 Our son is from the Phoenix area and is a freshman engineering major at Miami. He is fairly shy, but has made quite a few friends. He has no interest in fraternities. One thing that helped is that he is in a triple in Tappan Hall and both his roommates are also OOS. They were instant friends.
My d is a freshman at Miami - Music Performance with a Pre-Med co-major. She does not plan to rush and in no way feels left out or lacking in friends or things to do. She is quite involved in some other organizations on campus which I think is key to fitting in on any campus. She is very happy at Miami and as parents, we have been very pleased with the university.
I was greek, and most of my friends and off-campus housemates were not greek. We got along just fine.
