I am highly considering applying to USC because of the academics however Im not really into partying and I dont drink. Is it true that most social life revolves around this and will it be hard to fit in?
Not at all, there are plenty of kids that aren’t into the party scene. Diversity rules at USC and that includes all kinds of people with preferences for different social scenes. It is a spirit school for sure, but it is your choice how to represent your own spirit.
I don’t drink either (and I’m of legal age to actually drink lol). I agree; the school can be quite “spirited” at times. For instance, I always think of these frat boys that were running around in McCarthy Quad in nothing but their boxers when it was raining, but if you’re not one to act so wild, there are many other students just like you that are also more mellow. My aunt used to work near USC and would set up sting operations where she would catch students using fake IDs. She also talked during some orientations and mentioned how she would get a bunch of parents coming up to chat with her afterwards, haha. So yeah, there are party students, but you don’t have to be one if you don’t want to.
