I’m going to transfer Fall 2014 to UC Davis as a Junior and I just have a few questions about the school.
Classes? Professors? Parties, are they hard to find? Frats, I’m thinking about joining one because I won’t know anyone and I figured it would make parties/meeting people easier? Any specific Frats that have a good reputation for having fun? Clubs, are there any in mind that you’ve enjoyed? Tailgates? Friends, I’m not a loner or insecure person haha I just want to know if it’s easy to make friends there in school activities or etc? Night life (21+)? I feel weird asking this but are hook ups a thing at this campus, or is everyone preoccupied with being in a relationship? All I see on the UC Davis confessions page is people venting about wanting a relationship and not saying how great of a night they’ve had.
I’m not a shy person and I love making friends and meeting new people, I just don’t know if my lack of two years would put me at a disadvantage since people have already made their clicks. I know all of this shouldn’t be too much of a concern when going to college but I want to have the option to enjoy myself when I’m not hitting the books (which will probably be a lot). Thanks!

PS All of this feels ridiculous to ask but keep in mind I’ve been going to community college since Fall 2012 and I’ve been miserable -_- I have no idea what the real college student life is like, thanks.

The UC Davis Confessions page is not representative of social life on campus. I have never posted on that page, and neither my friends nor I give a damn about relationships at the moment. Also, there are other transfer students here like you–I myself was a transfer student. The only disadvantage you may have is that you won’t have the chance to live in the dorms like I did (since after 2012, transfer students were given only the option of living in Student Housing Apartments). I was able to meet other transfer students because of that, since the entire building I lived in was reserved for transfers only. Not everyone has clicked yet. In fact, I haven’t really clicked with anyone except my suitemates from when I lived in the dorms! (and one of them recently graduated, so now I just have one person to hang out with) I’m involved in clubs but I don’t click with them, even though they’re friendly and nice people, since they’re freshmen/sophomores and I’m a fifth year.

Classes and professors: depends. I’m only familiar with the classes and professors for my major/courses required for my major. I can’t tell you what a professor in the Engineering department is like because I’ve never taken an engineering course.

I can tell you that registering for classes is a pain in the butt if you don’t have a lot of course units, though, because the more units you have, the earlier and better your Pass 1 time (your first shot at registration) and the better your chance of getting into a class that fills up extremely quickly (this happens with popular classes. For example, one of the classes I signed up for next quarter, ANS 104, is known to fill up within the first day of registration). I never had a problem with getting classes, though.
