Other than studentsreview.com, where can we look for student's opinions? I realize these are usually negative in nature, as you are more apt to complain than compliment. We would still like to check out any sites of this nature.

The BEST way to get current student opinions is to do a livejournal.com interest search for the school name. If the students have a livejournal community, most are willing to answer questions from prospective students. And, it's a great way to get insight into how students think about the school and the world in general, just by reading the archives.

I also highly recommend doing a search at the schools web site for the student newspaper. Read as many archives as you can - you'll soon start picking up tidbits about what bothers students about their campus, what the social life is really like, etc.

I hesitate to rely too much on websites like studentsreview.com, campusdirt.com and others because they are not necessarily representative of the student body. Usually, there is some element of truth to what they say there but often those sites are statistically unreliable. Campusdirt.com is the worst in my opinion because they don't even tell you how many people actually are included in their "student review" of each school. Is it one person? Two people? 500?

I do like to check out the reviews of each school at www.epinions.com, however. While some are dated, they tend to be much more in depth and comprehensive than the "capsule" reviews. But in my mind, the best bet is either livejournal.com and/or the student newspaper.
