Student Production of Hair

Slide show: The Making of ?Hair? (April 20, 2009).

We're going to see it Friday night. I saw the original on Broadway more years ago than I can remember. It was vital and relevant then. Since I am personally neither anymore, I'll be interested to see how I feel about it 30 years or so later.

A "trip" down memory lane for us old alumni, but the actors look too clean cut compared to typical campus looks back then... btw, my hometown neighbors had one of those VW buses back then- useful with 6 kids (theirs was only one color). Enjoy.

Outstanding production. The ensemble singing and dancing was fantastic as were the costumes and the staging. Some of the individual performers, particularly the females, had Broadway quality voices. It was great fun.

One thing I really liked about Wiley was his plan to prioritize the arts programs on campus. I hope Martin follows through on that. It brings in no research money so it's really a difficult area to fund in tough times.
