We are parents of a current Davidson student and are impressed by the Dean Rusk Center. The opportunities and support for students to study abroad at Davidson are fantastic by any measure.

Our current student is interested in middle eastern studies. We know Davidson used to have a terrific program in Syria that is now closed. We know they send students to Jordan, but heard last year some students had or chose to leave due to an embassy shut down. No study abroad experience anywhere is perfectly safe, but I'm curious to hear from students/parents of students who have fairly recently studied abroad to learn Arabic with Davidson or similar college programs. Which programs/areas are good, not so good, etc.

Thanks.
