Would appreciate information on study abroad opportunities as a student in Dornsife. The list of programs seems somewhat limited, as compared to other universities, which boast of 100s of internal and external programs. In addition, many of the programs have language requirements, which impose further limitations. Are students limited to the programs listed on the website? Thank you!
No. But the Dornsife programs are the ones that are seamlessly integrated into USC’s Degree Progress. Students can do anything abroad, but it is up to them to transfer in credit.
Not all universities do study abroad the same way. At some schools, all study abroad is “transfer” credit. The official programs are USC credit.
@ttrojan thanks so much! Do you have a sense of how many students study abroad through the Dornsife-listed programs versus those who might find programs outside of USC? Do most Dornisife students stick with the listed programs?
If they want to take classes that will count for their majors, they stick with the approved courses. If they can afford to earn only transfer, elective credit, they can do it on their own.
