I’m looking to study abroad next spring and I’m looking for the easiest study abroad program in Europe. I don’t need any credits and so my main goal is to get straight A’s, travel around Europe, and have fun. I don’t want my semester of fun and traveling to ruin my GPA, which is my main priority. Worst comes to worst, I can take a semester off and travel around Europe but I really want to get the study abroad experience. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
If you take a semester off you can enroll directly into foreign universities. In Spain, France, and Italy, for example, the universities have international programs for students. You register, pay, and go - they are open enrollment programs. You will learn tons and it is really, really cheap. Usually, these are the same programs you do if you go through a study abroad company, like CEA, CIEE, etc., except they charge you a ton more money.
Cheack out studyabroadinspain.com - this site has really good info on the programs in Spain.
Have a look at cheapstudyabroad.org, which has similar info, but for more places.
And don’t forget language schools if you are interested in Language & Culture classes. I spent some summers in Europe at language schools and they were great.
Hope this helps!
Easiest straight A term I ever had. Most of the profs were from US and much more into travel than homework or papers or exams. I learned a lot but it was on weekend class trips and the result of class participation, not hours in the library.
Go to a study abroad university versus an actual university (for example, Danish Institute of Study Abroad vs, University of Copenhagen). The easiest program I have heard of was in Aix, France
