Studying abroad at Edinburgh

I have been thinking about applying to study at the University of Edinburgh. The school is widely recognized for its prestige and reputation, but even then, I am hesitant because I want to come back to the US for law school, and eventually to work in the US. Will getting an undergraduate degree from abroad affect my chances for law school and employability?

I wanted to do the exact same thing, but want to be a doctor instead. The university of edinburgh is a GREAT place, I visited last year and LOVED it. I’m pretty sure I could get in, but I think it’s easier for someone who wants to go to med school to just to stay in the US. Why dont you apply to their law course?? if you get in you can become a lawyer in 4 years.
I decided that I’m going to go to college in the US, study abroad my junior year, and then I’m going to apply to their med school :).
You can also email some law schools and ask them about their requirements for people who have a degree from another country.
Good Luck!

^You do realise that medicine in the UK works very very differently from medicine in the US? Most students in the UK study medicine as an undergraduate; it’s a five or six year course followed by internships or whatever at hospitals. You can do graduate entry medicine, but relatively few people do that. I’m not sure at all how it compares to medical school in the US, so you may end up repeating loads of stuff.

Yeah I know, I’ve been reading a lot about it. My friend’s brother majored in biology, applied to st andrews and got in. He says that he is being taught the same stuff he learned in college but is still challenged because the classes are taught differently.
