I know everybody gets letters from colleges, but I think its really good to get letters from top-tier colleges...because I doubt they would waste time and money sending it to people who had no chance

anyways, about a month ago I got a letter from Harvard, basically like every other college letter, saying how good the college is and the academic prestige... and so on

today I recieved a college admissions book from Harvard...like one of those you get on college tours. This had all the color pics of diversity/sports and what not...anyways I have never recieved an admissions book from a college in the mail before. I was totally shocked when I saw that there was an application in the back to apply to the Fall 2007 class. Did anybody else get this mailed out to them? I think this mailing really means you have a shot at getting into some ivies.

did u sign up for it on the internet or give you r email on your PSAT...not that ur not worthy of the H information...but many think that it's a personal invitation...but it's not...unless ur being recruited for a sport or somethin...

I got it too. And something about financial aid a week or two before that. The financial aid thing was pretty cool, my family is apparently poor enough that they wouldn't hafta contribute at all for me to go there.

I can't decide if I should apply or not. That's only the third application I've ever gotten from a school, but it's more interesting tahn the other two (U of Miami thought I was a senior last year, and Florida Institute of Technology sent me one too)

If I don't get stuff from HYP or Cornell, but am only a sophomore anyway and took PSAT (but did really well) do I still have a chance of getting in (not necessarily HYP, but I REALLY LOVE cornell)

My daughter, who has never indicated an interest in Harvard anywhere because she has no intention of applying to that school, received the Harvard packet. I think it's meaningless.
