I plan on applying ED to duke, and because I am taking the SAT subject test in November I am wondering whether the results will come in on time for the application process. I am taking the reasoning test in October, and I have already taken 2+ subject tests but I want to improve them.

In the years past, November test results have made it on time. However, it is strongly suggested that you designate Duke has a recipient of your scores on the test and not wait until after your scores come out to send them in as that could delay their receipt by Duke.

If I took a Subject Test in October and I am applying ED, would I have to inform CollegeBoard that I am sending it right away without knowing my scores or will I be able to see my scores and then decide if I want to send them??

You should have enough time to see your scores before deciding if you take it in October.

Here’s an idea- take the ACT in September so you technically don’t need the subject tests so even if they don’t get there you won’t be penalized but if they do get there it could help you out. They should get there though.

That’s actually a really good idea, I think I’m going to do that.
