Has anyone else run into this problem?

My son submitted his application to 2 schools on 9/18 and 9/19 via the common app. Neither has an application fee.

The first school sent back an email:
I just want to let you know that I noticed that you have submitted your Common Application to XXX College. At this time I am still waiting for the ability to export this information. Once Common Application has informed me that the export function is available I will complete the processing of your application.

I contacted CA after the email. According to them:
There is no specific issue that prevents schools from exporting forms. Some schools may still be finalizing their automated processes for downloading forms from the Common App. Submitted forms will always be available for schools to begin processing when
they are ready.

The second school never acknowledged his application. When he called today, he was told that there were technological issues that they hoped would be resolved in a few weeks! When I called back and asked for more information, they were very vague. One person said they get applications in batches from the common app every few weeks.

According to the CA:
When my app will be received?

The institution receives the online portion of your application once you electronically sign the application and click the "Submit" button. Your application is then instantly made available to the institution, but it may take several days or more until the institution actually views your application.

The institution will not see or know the specifics of your online application until you complete the steps involved in the submission process, which typically includes the payment of an application fee, submission of any required supplements, and acknowledgement of the accuracy of your application by use of the electronic signature.

I don't seem to be getting a straight answer from the school or the CA. Anyone else having this experience?

Thanks!
