Submitting SAT's to Caltech

I really messed up on my SATs and my SAT I Math II.

SAT I: Definitely retaking it (in October). I got a 2180 (740 M, 690 CR, 750 W). I'm kind of ashamed.

Math IIc:
I got a 720 (terrible, I know) b/c I made stray marks. Don't give me that crap where you are like "Maybe you're just retarded. There's no way of knowing you had stray marks." Well, actually, I know for sure, that this was the problem. That's because I bubbled in Bio E instead of M, and then erased it for M, but the intensity of the erased mark could be seen from afar. They said that if their machine messed up (according to them, a one in a million chance), they would refund my money. And they didn't. I thought I skipped a question on my scantron, but not on the packet itself. So, I went back and erased ten answers (near the easier beginning) on the scantron, but realized that I hadn't made a bubbling error. Some of these stray marks were even more visible than the Bio E. Moreover, these questions were near the beginning (supposed to be easy), and I strongly felt that the test was easy (save 1 question at the end I didn't have time for).

My other SAT II's aren't that great, either:
Chem - 770 (same day as Bio M and Math II, but w/e that score is decent, right?)
Bio - 710 (I just SUCK at bio, so I'm happy)
World History - 750

So my question is: When is the latest that you can submit your scores to Caltech (early action deadline: November 2)? Will the SAT you take in November count?

Have you paid for hand scoring? If you’re sure that was the problem, I would pay for them to score the test by hand. For early action, only SATs you take in October or before will count. For regular decision, it’s December or before. If you apply early and take a November SAT, it will only be considered if you are deferred to regular decision.

http://admissions.caltech.edu/applying/deadlines

^ Yes that is exactly what I did. They only rescored my Bio from a 620 to a 710. And they said it was my fault (in the email), so I wouldn’t get that $50 refund. What a waste. I’m never EVER going to bubble in my answers as dark as possible with a #2 pencil.

Are you sure that the November SAT is only considered for early applicants if they get deferred? I read somewhere on there website that you could rush it in, but there is a chance that it won’t be considered at all.

What would you say is a safe SAT score?

Thanks for your reply.

I think for subject tests, the most common scores are 770-800. Not too surprising that there is a significant number of people who score 2400 on three subject tests.
