D was assigned a room in Sue B on a random by sex wing. Can anyone tell me what the bathroom set-up is? Does each random by sex wing have two bathrooms, one for men and one for women, or do the kids have to cross through the elevator bank to go to a different wing/building to get to a bathroom?

There’s one bathroom per wing. Four wings, four bathrooms, two for each sex. If your daughter’s wing has the girls, then … If not, then she crosses the hall. My daughter had the boys bathroom on her wing. She never minded. She did like living on a co-ed floor.

Nervous1, My D was also assigned to Sue B. How do you know your D’s wing is “random by sex”. Thanks

When you fill out your housing form, you have the option to be on a co-ed floor. I believe otherwise you are put on a same sex floor. There are only a few co-ed floors.

My D was also assigned to SueB, she received a single which she was pretty happy about. Is it common for freshmen to get singles? BofD

columbiaorbust, on my D’s letter with the housing assignment, under the room assignment, it says “Coed by Random Room”.

It is not common to get a single. They mostly go to D’Lions, RA’s and other advisor types.

LOL!! I had to read the thread title twice to figure out waht it was referring to!!!

I suppose a single is good for the most part, but I think one misses the roomate experience. Of course, my freshman roomate 100 years ago was a complete knucklehead, so what’s to miss? I think the positives outweigh the negatives.
