Sufficient time for SAT prep?

My psat score in sophomore year was a 200 (CR:62 M:76 WR:62). I have about six to nine months to prepare for the SAT and Im aiming for at least a 2300. I started SAT prep classes after the psat and after taking some practice tests recently, Im getting around the low 700s for CR, high 700s for math, and mid 600s for writing (havent worked a lot on it yet). However, I usually dont do as well on the actual tests. Ive been dedicating at least three hours each day to do as many sections as I can during the summer. Do you think getting at least a 2300 is a reachable feat in the span of half a year? Thanks for reading this!!

Three hours a day?! I’d burn out after a month at that rate! Don’t go crazy, you have plenty of time to prep. Are you taking full practice tests or just sections? And how do you know that you don’t do as well on the actual test, you’ve only taken your sophomore PSAT, right?

Also, give the ACT a shot. The prep for both is very similar, and you may find you do better on one than the other.

I would prep for junior year PSAT, if you can get NMF or NMSF you open up lots of scholarship possibilities and it’s a nice thing to put on your app.
