I was wondering if 3 years of being a Jr. project manager at a small construction firm would be enough to get me into an MBA program. I'm not shooting for a top school. A school like Baruch College. I understand that the majority of MBA students work in finance or marketing. However, I am interested in management for engineering/construction firms. Thank You.

Yes it is sufficient. I recommend shooting for as good of a business school as possible (perhaps Baruch is the best you can get into..but I'm guessing now). I'm also hoping that you have taken on additional responsibility or rose the ranks some in those 3 years. However, any sort of PM role would look good to a business school IMO.

Thanks, I am not doing this anytime soon, just wondering my options. I am under the impression that top business schools look for students with good positions in huge companies not someone in a small custom home building construction firm. I am thinking about Baruch due to its location as well as price. I by no means would be able to afford Columbia or Stern, I would not be approved for loans due to credit history.

Business schools want people that will be successful in the future, and thus have shown a level of success in the past. I don't believe that the size of past employers is much of a factor in their decision making.
