Hello everyone. I am an international student with an admit for graduate program in Industrial Engineering at Northeastern, Boston and University of Florida.
On one side at NEU it is the Co-op programs and the location advantage but high living cost and tuition. On the other UF has better ranking for Industrial and low tuition fee but location disadvantage and lack of companies coming there for internships and placement.
As of now I have no intention to do a PhD. I’d be looking for placements and Internships.
You need to take your questions about internship placements and job placements directly to the graduate programs themselves. They should be able to tell you where international students are placed. You also need to ask employers in your own country whether they prefer graduates of one or the other of these two universities. It is most likely that you won’t be able to find permanent employment in the US, and you will need to go home.
If you are talking about an in-person learning experience this fall, Northeastern has excellent COVID plans in place with mandatory testing of all students every 3 days and faculty every five days. My friend said UF does not have mandatory testing. You could do your co-ops in your own country to save money. Good luck.
