Suggestions for a VERY nontraditional transfer student!

If you are ever out of school for a bit, Smith’s Ada Comstock program for non-traditional students might appeal to you. Wellesley also has a similar program. Since you are still in college, I am not sure you would qualify now but you could check for next year’s application cycle. Hospitals utilize EMTs for various jobs like in the ER and elsewhere. They tend to pay better than the local retailers and usually have tuition assistance. If you’re looking for bio/anthro as a first step towards a professional healthcare degree then a hospital job would have you working alongside these professionals. The great thing is there’s usually a hospital near enough to colleges and they are all looking for workers.

I don’t have anything to add about which colleges to look into but my advice for someone with unstable support would be to get your degree as quickly and cheaply as possible. Unfortunately you don’t have the luxury of taking an extra year because certain courses didn’t transfer easily. Take the surer route and go where you transfer seamlessly like your in state publics. Good luck, I wish you luck!
