Suggestions for colleges with 3.3 weighted gpa

I am a Florida resident and have a 3.0 unweighted gpa and a 3.3 weighted gpa. I am in the IB program. I have EC's and hours. I just wanted to know what colleges I could get into. My main college is Michigan State University or UCF.

Thanks I look forward to the suggestions.

There are actually a couple of threads on just this topic in the parents forum

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/parents-forum/767486-where-did-your-3-3-3-6-gpa-child-get.html

katliamom, on that first thread, we told him to start his own thread for more suggestions!
Those threads are parent threads, actually.

How about West Virginia University or University of Delaware?

Do you want a large “rah rah” type school where football & basketball teams (D1) appear on national television?

Rural, Suburban, Urban? Large, Medium or Small?
What can your family afford?

I would like a big school with D1 sports and things of tar nature that would be a dream.

So you would like to be a Tar Heel? Ouch…

That* nature. Typo sorry

Alabama, Kansas, KState amd Missouri. I think MSU will be tougher as gpa may need to be higher. Best of luck!

Can you afford the $35-55K for OOS colleges?

@erin’s dad
Yeah I can.

What are your test scores?

I got a 24 on my first ACT but I think I can get it up to a 26 to 27

With a 3.3 WGPA is your UW GPA <3.0?

A 3.0 is a slight reach for MSU. You may be able to get in with it but a 3.3 would be helpful. If you apply, you may get deferred and have to wait to see if you can get in. I would think OOS helps you for getting into MSU.

Don’t know much about UCF.

I think the 24 makes you automatically admitted to Kansas if you apply there. That has a big D1 sports atmosphere and OOS tuition is a little less than MSU.

@erin’s dad
My unweifhted gpa is a 3.0

Arizona State and Arizona would also be matches.

Do you know of any in the south or northeast

UMiss, Arkansas, Alabama-Birmingham. Not sure about NE.

Thanks a lot
