Suggestions please

D is rising senior

3.6 gpa, school does not weight; strong upward trend this year with 4.0 including 4 DE classes ( all DE next year)
33 ACT single sitting, no prep except first sitting in Feb (29 composite)
Minimal EC’s: volunteering, tennis, yearbook, youth group

She had planned to only apply to state flagship honors college, but with April ACT, started to think she might expand her list. She wants to apply to at least 1 school in each region, NE, SE, MW, SW, NW, and CA. She has college fund that will provide, but she wants to save some if possible, so we’re looking for merit. However she can spend 60k per year if she really feels like the school would be worth it. She seems more like a LAC to mid size U kid to me than large flagship. She doesn’t want pressured environment, partying, or Greek life.

I’ve got some ideas for her; Scripps, Lewis and Clark, Lawrence, St. John’s , Bryn Mawr/Haverford, New College of Florida and Brown as a massive reach. Any other thoughts? She’s undecided but is interested in environmental science, English, anthropology, or maybe psychology.

Thanks

With Scripps and NCF on your list, look into Pitzer and Occidental. Pitzer has a lower acceptance rate, but they’re quirky and might like her application a lot. I think Reed and Grinnell are good options, too, since you can pay full freight if you have to.

Colby College in Maine has a well known ES major. In terms of selectivity it would be around Haverford.
