<p>Very sad to hear about the grad student who shot himself outside the library this morning. I hope he will recover. I was, however, deeply shocked to think of guns on campus.</p>

<p>My son is on UD’s Emergency Care Unit and was part of the response team who cared for this troubled young man. He was taken to Christiana Hospital and is in fair condition. Hopefully he will recover. This is a very unfortunate event, as is the fact that guns are everywhere in American society- including truly special, uplifting places like UD.</p>
