Summer before college

So what are all of you doing the summer before college?

Working as a math tutor at a summer program for middle school students, pretending I have something to procrastinate on.

I’m volunteering on a political campaign but since I’ve already proven myself to be socially awkward and mildly incompetent, the campaign managers don’t expect a lot out of me so it isn’t at all very laborious or anything. I’m also doing a summer camp for Model UN. That’s about it.

A summer music festival and relearning french for my placement test

Working out, hanging out with my gf about 3 times a week, playing soccer and football, studying Calc B and General Chem on my own so they will be easy A’s in college, and trying to get an undergraduate research position for the fall.

@Patton370 Out of curiosity, what are you doing to get a research position before you even start college?

@halcyonheather So far, I emailed a professor and got a meeting with him set up (in other words I got extremely lucky) ((hopefully it goes well!))

Working and doing a couple job shadows… But mostly working :-)

traveling, chilling with friends and prepping for two of my more difficult courses for the fall semester. I’m burned out by the past 2 years and I decided I deserved a ‘gap summer’, which means minimal productivity and more self-fulfillment. I don’t know if I’ll ever get the chance to something like this again.

I will be working at a library. In my free time I will be practicing my Spanish and learning Korean. I also want to begin working out. That way I can continue and already have a routine when I’m on campus.

Making money.

Doing a fellowship for a gubernatorial candidate. Applying for various menial jobs (but to no avail thus far). Regretting every decision I’ve ever made.

This is a great word.
