Summer Classes?

I dunno if this is the forum to ask this, but is it worth it to take courses at a local community college during the summer? Like do colleges like that or do they not care.

Depends on the college. If it's HYPSM, then they could probably care less.

^ wats HYPSM? and also do the majority of the colleges care or not?

Harvard Yale Princeton Stanford MIT
And the majority of colleges simply care that you do something with your summers, but community college isn't the best possible thing you could do. Research or specialized programs would be more desirable.

^ im not aiming for ivy league or anywhere in top tier just something "good"

Then yes, CC classes over the summer would look pretty good on an app

^ any preference on what classes i should take or should i take what i want to major in?

^ Save what you want to major in for college. Only take classes that your high school doesn't offer but that interest you. Art classes and the like are acceptable, but taking classes like Psych, Business, etc. is not a good idea.

^ o i was thinking of taking business and writing courses, wait so why not take them?

I'd like to know also - I don't have the extra classes avaliable during school to actually take those extra classes, since taking required classes already takes up most of the open space, and I would have to compete with all of the seniors also.

I suggest taking an introductory or lower level course in something that interests you. If it is writing, so be it. Just be careful not to take a class that will set you up for failure. My son took classes at a CC and two four year schools over the summers and I think it helped him get accepted at his top schools. Certainly shows the admissions people that you can do college level work if you get a good grade. He made sure to choose classes he WANTED to take so he would have a high level of interest and do well in them.
