Summer Exchange?

I am going on an exchange to France next summer for one month through my local Rotary Club, and have my host sibling return with me for one month. I would obviously rather do a year but I take school very seriously and would probably feel anxious to miss an entire year, especially my junior year. I would like to be an I.R major (focus in European affairs) and I’m not very sure this is seen as impressive to top schools to go to France for a month. Does it stand out?

EDIT: I chose Rotary because it is the most affordable option for me. I wanted to go for three months through ASSE but it was $8000 and simply TOO far out of reach.

Most students don’t even take their studies out of their state. A month in France would look absolutely fantastic on an application and would definitely make you stand out.

A month in France will look great, and most high school students do not take a year off because it would be hard to miss that amount of classes in your home country (And you might have to repeat a grade). Don’t stress about how it looks- it is very impressive.
