Sometimes the schools only offer summer interviews to internationals, so it may be different in your case.

Oh I see…I guess you should ask the admission office then.Well good luck anyways
I actually want to go during school days to see the atmosphere and stuff, but I’ll have to miss so many school days to go all the way over.

Btw NMH didn’t know I was international n they didnt ask about it so perhaps they can do it?

I went on a school interview/ tour today , and the kid with me was international so…

How did it go? Which schools are you applying to? What are the interview questions like?

well interview was pretty good (lasted 75 minutes)…but I kept talking too quickly and my eye contact was well, less than fantastic…I did mine at a HADES school (don’t want to mention the name right now) the most memorable questions were:
How would your best friend describe you
How have you been spending your summer
How would your mom and dad describe you
What books I read
where I was born
why do you want to come to ________ school
favorite subjects
favorite movies
sports/ clubs you’re interested in
She also commented that if I got into the school, I should take classes for acting / dancing/ singing because she said I’d be good at that (even though I can’t act, or dance and god knows I CAN NOT sing)
and then she asked about my family, and when I told her I had an older sibling who wasn’t interested in BS, she kept asking me why
oooh and she asked how my parents met…

Did you get to meet the adcoms or only the tour guide? Is the parent interview part of the visit?

umm I’m about to sound really ignorant but what is an adcom??

For this school, I did our tour with my parent, went back to the admissions building, went upstairs and interviewed for a while as my parent waited downstairs. Then we did a switcheroo and she took him upstairs to interview and he had his parent interview.

But now that I’ve done it…it feels unofficial, I mean I haven’t started my new grade yet and the school was vacant except for the occasional janitor/ summer program student. I don’t know, do you think I should / can do a fall interview?

Adcoms are members of the admissions committee, like the director of admission, associate, asst. directors etc. Did you get to see the labs, arts dept in detail or is it a quick walkthrough? Did you get a good feel for the school without the students?

oh then yes, an adcom interviewed me. I got to see the entire science building! It was breathtaking. They also had PHENOMENAL student artwork all along the walls! But I couldn’t go in some of the buildings such as dorms because they are locked for the summer. And even with the silence of the summer, I just felt soo calm (despite the muggy and buggyness), it was amazing! But don’t let me drone on and on! I can’t fall in love, I’m scared that it will result in rejection and heartbreak = (

You should mention in your thank you letter that you felt the school is a great fit for you. You have enough time to work hard on your application as you are starting early.

^You think so?! Thanks! i kinda need more ideas for my letters other than “Thanks for interviewing me!” haha
Wooo first post on page 3!!! that’s the 3rd one this week!
