Summer Interviews

Does anyone know if Brooks, Kent, NMH, SMS, or Taft offer summer interviews?

That’s interesting. I didn’t know anyone offered summer interviews.

Bump.

Also does anyone know if blair offers summer interviews?

You may just want to ask the admissions office.

Yeah I will if no one responds.

Hopeful, Let us know if there are any schools who offer summer interviews. I
m chomping at the bit too. I want to get the process rolling. I
m also looking at some of the same schools you are. But I`m not as good in math as you seem to be.

This is what I have so far:

Summer Interviews are available
Exeter
Andover
Milton
Hotchkiss
Lawrenceville
SPS

No summer Interviews
Choate
Loomis Chaffee
Middlesex
Peddie
Tabor

Don’t know
Brooks
Blair
Kent
NMH
St. Mark’s
Taft

Why can’t Choate offer summer interviews? Flying up there from dreary old pittsburgh to go to Andover, Exeter, and Hotchkiss and now I will have to go back up so I can have an interview since I do not want an off-campus interview. Oh well. This way, I am guaranteed to see the Pharaoh Tutanhkamun exhibit in NYC.

Some of these may not be set in stone. If you call, they MAY be able to arrange something.

St. Georges, Middlesex, Groton and Williston offer summer interviews.

I would not despair those schools closed for summer interviews. It’s hard to assess a school without seeing the students around campus–at some schools the kids look happy, at others, they look beaten down. Some seem very preppy and others more artsy. Some are polite, others less so. Go back when school is in session–it is worth it.

erlanger
s point is well taken but sometimes it helps to do the interview in the summer and do the revisit day in the spring. Reason
s: logistics and school schedules.

Only accepted students are allowed to go to revisit day and acceptance is never guarenteed no matter how high the SSAT’s, or how “great/long” the interview. Also, why go through the trouble to apply when if you had saw the students at the school in the Fall, you wouldn’t have liked it.

All this considering you already have a good idea about the school you want to go to. Meaning, you have friends and family who attended your school of interest. And yes, revisits are after the acceptance. Keep in mind, international students have to consider these options sometimes.

Any new info on schools doing summer interviews? For the ones that are doing interviews, does that mean they are currently accepting applications for Fall 2011 already?

It is best to contact your schools directly to find out if you can arrange a summer visit. Be patient because most Admissions offices have limited staffing during the summer.

When we looked a number of years ago, I asked about summer interviews because I thought if would be more convenient than missing school. I was told that summer interviews were arranged for internationals who could not come at any other time. I was discouraged from summer interviews and visits because we could visit when school was in session.

If you can visit while school is in session, that is the preferred way to do it.

I just dont want to miss too much school with my visits. I am applying to about 10ish schools, so I want to minimize how many afternoons I miss by doing some summer interviews.

I know that Andover encourages day students to interview during the summer.

2010 hopeful, Choate, Loomis Chaffee, Middlesex, St Mark’s and NMH do offer summer interviews. I just scheduled mine with them =)(except NMH but I did email them to ask)

are you an international?

yup,im international
