For someone who has Ivy League aspirations, what is the best way to spend the summer between your Junior and Senior year? Internship? Pre-college program? Volunteering?

For everyone, with or without ivy aspirations, your summer options should include following your passion, whatever it might be.
“Pursue your passion. Find what you love, and do it. Maybe it’s a sport. Maybe it’s an instrument. Maybe it’s research. Maybe it’s being a leader in your community. Math. Baking. Napping. Hopscotch. Whatever it is, spend time on it. Immerse yourself in it. Enjoy it.”

Me personally, I held a job as a clerk at a law firm, played club baseball, and did volunteering a few times a week.

But do what interests you…that’s the best advice. Do whatever you feel you are comfortable doing for a summer. something you can learn something from or are passionate about, so that you are able to talk about it in interviews/essays.

Thanks for the tips, sometimes I loose sight of doing what I want to do instead of what I think colleges want me to do…

abaseballplayer - I noticed that you got into Harvard! Congrats! That is by far my first choice, so any other advice would be greatly appreciated :)
