whats everyone doing for their last summer pre-penn…?

I'm getting a job. Trying to start to pay down that $160K debt. :)

Well, my mother, knowing how much I utterly despise children, signed me up to work at a summer camp as a counselor for small kids. So I assume she's either trying to push me to go totally crazy or to kill myself, and thus not even have to pay $160K.

I'm working for/interning for a wedding/event planner and floral designer. I'll be shadowing her at weddings, setting up, organizing meetings, etc. I'm excited to see the business and design aspects of it.

hopefully ill be working at tweeter and partying with my friends and goin to concerts

sweetnsarah, your mom sounds exremely evil...just like mine -_- My mother signed me up several occasions volunteering to donate blood to the red cross knowing how much i hate needles and injections... It's like her way of punishing me... "Get a A in Econ or else I'm gonna make you donate some blood"... 0.o

Ironically, Chandoza, I donate blood every few months on my own, even though I positively abhor needles and blood. Not to mention I pass out everytime. I must be slightly masochistic, I guess, but at least I get to be waited on for a day.

On a brighter note, my dad managed to hook me a job at an investment banking firm in Philly, so I managed to get out of any child-related work for the summer. I'll probably just be doing filing or manning the copy room or something, but still. Better than children, unless they put me to work in the office day-care or something... shudder

haha... damn needlees...and seeing your own blood carried away in little see-through pouches..-_-

Glad you got our of child-care job, but im still going to be donating this summer :( Investment banking? Are you going to Wharton or the College? (assuming that it's somthing to do with your intended major) I ED'd the college but I think I want to be a investment banker...

You want to be an investment banker? Poor thing....

I will be attending Wharton, which is probably why the firm was so eager to hire me. I don't think they would really go around hiring all of the employees' friends' daughters that want a summer job.

honestly, if money isn't an issue for you, please take it easy this summer. go on trips, visit friends, or just bum around at home. you won't be able to do this again for years (or if you're thinking med school, decades)

i plan on doing exactly what I did last summer:

going out till the break of dawn
waking up in the evening
running
lifting
sleeping
eating
eating
eating
going out with friends
watching lots of movies

I'll be working in my father's warehouse, as I've done the last two summers. I think next year is going to be my big vacation summer...probably do 2-3 months in Europe.
