Last summer I was in Summer Science and Engineering Program and I am applying Early Decision II now. Will this experience help me in admissions? And I also wanna know if there’s a huge difference of acceptance rate between round 1 and 2. [plus I am an international student! ]
It can help you, I would think, in letting them know that you have underlying reason to say that Smith is the school for you. You can acknowledge that while the summer program isn’t entirely the same as taking classes during the school year, in several ways, you nonetheless got a good understanding of Smith. This experience contributed to you choosing Smith as your first choice (if indeed it is). It may also help them to have reports from the program that you’re solid emotionally and diligent in your studies. Will this make up for poor grades or some other deficit in your record? Probably not, but it does give you “street cred” or in this case “Smith cred” that will help you prepare a convincing story about “why Smith”.
Awww thanks!! I got in to Smith a couple months before!
Terrific! Hooray for you!
