My parents want me to do a college summer program so I was wondering if it helps with admission to a certain college
I.e. If I want go to brown, would it help my chances if I went to a summer program there?

Or does putting it on your application help you in general in college admissions

Most colleges that do summer programs (like Brown) say it has no impact on admissions at their college.
However, doing academic summer programs can help in the overall scheme of admissions because it demonstrates that you are showing initiative and don’t want to be lazy in the summer.
