Summer Self Study AP Physics B?

Hi! I am currently a sophomore in high school and I'm finishing up the school year.

I'm pretty good at math, maintaining a year average of 97 in AP Calc AB. I had a bit of trouble this year in Chemistry Honors (not AP) and have a 90 year average in that class.

My summer will be about 14 weeks long. Do you guys think I'd be able to finish AP Physics B over the summer? If so, how much time do you think I would have to dedicate to Physics each day?

This will be my first time self-studying a subject. Any tips?

Definitely possible since you’ve finished CalcAB and have a lot of the foundational concepts down such as position/velocity/acceleration graphs.

A lot of people self study the months before the AP test, so studying in the summer is really a head start, so don’t over do it! Maybe like 1-2 hours a day max

It’s much better to self-study for AP Physics C (though harder); it’ll let you put your calc skills to good use.

No decent college will want Physics B if your intended major is heavy or semi-heavy on math. You should definitely go with Physics C instead.
