If anyone could help me out with this I would be grateful!

So I am hoping to go to a Chinese University this summer as part of a language study program but the costs are pretty hefty for me. Unfortunately, Vassar College does not process any financial aid over the summer. While I did know this beforehand, I was hoping to at least take out loans to cover the program fee.

But because Vassar doesn't process financial aid over the summer, does this mean I can't take out loans for the summer?
I asked the financial aid office, who said no I can't, but I'm not sure if they understood my question.

Also, does anyone know of any other options I might have?

Did you take out your max loans for 2013-14? I think I read that some colleges treat summer with the previous year and some with the new year. In any case I guess the first thing is to determine if you have any loan availability. Did you tell the officer what you were trying to do and ask how to do it?

If Vassar says they don’t process summer aid, then they do not process summer aid. I tried searching on Vassar’s site and did not see anything that would help me answer your question. My suggestion is to find someone in the financial aid office to sit down with … make sure they understand your question, and make sure you understand their answer.
