I currently go to Buffalo and am not really enjoying myself. I'm a prospective Comp. Sci. major going into my second year and would hope to transfer after this year.

Could anyone answer: Which school has the better CS program (not expecting anyone to know this, but just giving it a shot lol)?

How big is Bing?

What degree would most likely look better when applying to graduate school?

How are the people?

Is it easy to get involved?

Any input is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Binghamton is about 15,000 students, and I want to say about 12,000 of those are undergrads (giving a general idea here, check the admissions part of the website for exact numbers). It’s a pretty “big” school since it’s a university and not a college in the SUNY system, but to be honest, I’ve never felt like just a number. I’ve had classes with 450 kids (which is the biggest class size we have! smaller than some classes at say, Stony Brook for example). The people vary, of course, but I find most of them to be pretty down to earth, intelligent people. There’s a large jewish population if that interests you, as that was a bonus for me when I was looking into it. I think it’s REALLY easy to get involved, we have the b-line that is published every day to tell you about events and clubs GIMs (general interest meetings), and there’s ALWAYS something going on on campus.

If there’s anything else you’d like to know, just ask! =)
