The Natl Assn of College and University Business Officers released a report ranking 864 public and private school endowments for 2009 and included a comparison with 2008 data. The median endowment for these schools was 67.47M at the end of 2009, an 18% decrease from 2008's 82.38M. Some of the SUNY's, particularly UB, were able to garner significant donations despite the downturn. Unfortunately, much of that seems to be going toward building funds and doesn't seem to have translated into any significant increases in student aid programs (and UB was the originator of the plan to allow SUNY's to set their own tuition rates, which will definitely increase costs). Does anyone have any input on the other SUNY schools?
