For SUNY New Paltz, since it's looking I will be attending there in the fall because Fordham didn't pull through financially, what is the core curriculum that students at New Paltz need to complete? (ie: certain # of math, science, english, etc).

Also, does New Paltz offer summer courses for students who may want to get a head start, or catch up on a major, or even double in a major?

I tried their site but I couldn't find anything, so I really appreciate all responses!

I would call them- they were very nice when D interacted with them. You also may not have to take summer classes at New Paltz. They probably have an equivalency list for community college classes to let you know if they meet NP requirements. I know SUNY Albany does.

Yea Fordham U didnt work out financially, so its most likely new paltz at this point. I’d like to double major (maybe even triple, if possible) thats why I was asking about summer courses, because thatll be tough to do in just 4 years.

My son is graduating with his BS in 3 yrs from NP by doing gen courses ie: Spanish and intro business courses at community college over summer as well as during mid winter break. He also did online New Paltz courses so with planning and carrying a max schedule you should be able to double major maybe triple depending on the subjects and course availability. He did need to get dept pre-approval for courses taken at other schools.

I know they have summer course offerings and are good about giving credit from other institutions with pre-approval. It’s a fun school to attend…I’m sure you will have a very positive experience.

My D is graduating in a few weeks, she will have a BA in English and a BS in Visual Arts with honors, finished in 4 years. She was able to take spanish at comm. college, and a full class load all semesters. She did an intercession study abroad, and a semester in Barcelona. Her advisors at NP have been helpful with her scheduling. One thing that really helped was being in the honors program as she was able to schedule first.
