SUNY oneonta or fredonia

hello i am majoring in music business and got accepted to both colleges
i am having a hard time deciding can anyone help me
thanks

were you accepted into any other suny schools?...based on those two..i would go with fredonia

See my post to you in the Music Major forum! didn't know there was a "SUNY general" area-that's great, since there are certainly many quality options other than those listed!

Fredonia is known for excellent music business program. I would think their facilities would be better than Oneonta.

Do you play an instrument? Some Music Business programs require an audition. Oneonta doesn't require an audition, I don't know about Fredonia. If that impacts you, it would be worth checking into.

My daughter's friend is in a music business program at Oneonta and is very happy there - I don't believe she actually plays an instrument, but she wants to be an entertainment lawyer or something like that.

We were at SUNY Fredonia yesterday for a Music Ed audition. IDK much about the music business program but I can tell you the music school is, IMO, top notch. We seriously enjoyed our visit and D loved what she saw. I think it would be worth it for you to tour both schools, we have toured other SUNYs and trust me Fredonia is a cut above. All of the facilities are constantly being updated, you can tell they have poured a lot of money into the programs there. The campus and facilities really have a private school feel with a public school price.

I thought Potsdam was the best music SUNY program.

Many people would disagree with that assessment (Crane vs. Fredonia)! Perhaps once that was the case, but I don't think it holds true anymore!

OK! Honestly, I wouldn't know. I haven't been in NY for 15 years.

Haha, MusMom and I can both tell you that the Crane vs Fredonia Music debate is a hot one. Fredonia is up and coming and from what I can tell they are working hard on their Fine Arts programs and putting a lot into making that school great.
