I see someone else started a thread with Oswego, but my question is different. Oswego is my only in-state option for my major. I currently am a college student at a school in the city and my gpa is currently a 2.66. Not good I know, but I am hoping to get it up to over a 3.0 this semester. The problem I have is Oswego's mean gpa is almost a 3.0 and their deadline for fall is on March 1st. I won't be able to get my gpa before then. I don't want to get rejected from my only in-state option. Anyone have advice for me? I was thinking of going to one of the upstate community colleges and maybe applying for the spring of 2012 when my gpa is higher.

Bumping. Anyone?

It can’t hurt you to apply can it? If you aren’t accepted then you could go to CC and reapply for spring. good luck!

What is your major?

My major is human resources management and oswego is the only school that offers that in the suny system.

Bump bump bump

There is no deadline for Oswego. They just advise you to apply by that date. If you think you will do better wait till the end of this semester, thats what Im going to do and don’t be worried about have a 3.0, if you have over 30 credits they minimum Gpa is a 2.3 so you should be fine with a 2.5.

I think you’d be better off calling or emailing the admissions dept at Oswego than asking this question on an internet forum. I have followed the NACAC space availability surveys at May 1st for several years now and don’t recall seeing Oswego on that list. You may be cutting your chances from fair to none if you wait until May to apply.

I got a 2.03 first semester and I know you need a 2.3 to get into Oswego if you have over 30 credits which I will have at the end of this semester and my gpa should be up around 2.5. Should I wait till i get better grades to send my transcript or should I just apply now and hope they ask for mid-semester grades?
