Superscoring ACT?

Does Johns Hopkins superscore ACT? I know they do for the SAT, but how about the ACT?

No we do not superscore the ACT, we look at the highest combined score from a single sitting. This is not to say we ignore other ACT scores, but for our reporting purposes we do not superscore the ACT.

Thanks for the help.

Could you please explain what superscoring means? I never heard of this term.
Thanks.

"Superscoring" means cherry picking the best scores on each individual section from two or more sittings of the test, rather than using the total from a single sitting.

If you score CR 600 + M 650 (= 1250) one day and CR 690 and M 620 (= 1310) the second time around, your "superscore" would be 1340 (CR 690 + M 650).

Many colleges superscore the SAT, but I don't know of any who do the same for the ACT.

great answer worried_mom ...

... I had never heard of the term "superscore" until I came to College Confidential. I actually think it was a term created by this site, because I bet if you poll college admissions professionals throughout the country, very few have ever heard the term.
