Superscoring on the SAT

I just got my June SAT scores back with a 1510 (740 English, 770 Math). My old score from one month prior was 1510 (720 English 720 English). I know that many colleges do superscore these two section, but what about the individual english sections? Even though all I am finding on blogs is that these are not superscored, do the colleges actually superscore these individual sections for my superscore? Even if they do not, could this potentially increase my chance of admissions considering the colleges could find me to be more promising than the official superstore suggests? I am happy with a 1530, but a 1560 (my score with the two sections superscored) would be nice. Thanks for any replies

Huh? 720+720=1440, and you can’t have two EBRW scores from the same exam.

Sorry about that, I meant 720 English 790 math

OK. then 740+790=1530, which is great.

Where are you getting 1560? If you mean the 2 math results (770+790=1560) then no, it does not work that way. The superscore is 1530.

I meant if you were to “superscore” the two individual English sections: Reading and Grammar

Schools do not superstore the sections that make up the verbal component. I’m not sure if they even see that data when the scores are reported, they may just get the verbal total

No - they do not superscore individual sections of each test.

You have a great score! Relax - focus on something else now.

Well, they don’t do that either. Your superscore is your best M + best EBRW, which again, is very very good. Move on to other aspects of the application package.
