Hey, hi! So, I’ve heard a bunch of different things about this and I am a little stuck. I know the uncommon should be about 500(mine is) but what about why uchi and the favorites essays? I thought I read somewhere that they are each supposed to be 250 but I’ve also seen some people on here with them in the 500-600 range!
I don’t want it to come across like I didn’t try/want to put time into them because it actually took me forever to make them so short. Anyone have info from the university on this?

Who knows man. I think the most important thing is that the essay is just good.
For uncommon, it should be around a page.
The other two, 250-500 is a good range. Again, just make sure it’s good. I’m in the same position as you.
Thanks! I think I might add some of the parts I cut when I thought there was a word limit, but I’d rather have a really tight essay than bore them with a super long one.

Great choice in your final statement, koolestkid. The truth is it takes a considerable amount of discipline and fine tuning to craft a short piece. Trust me, the adcoms will be grateful for economy and wit, considered thought and well-honed ideas.
