Supplement Help, Please :) <3

Hi.

I had a question about the Yale supplement.

I'm working on the essay, for which the question is is:
You have already told us about yourself in the Common Application, with its list of activities, the Short Answer, and the Personal Essay. While we leave the topic of your second essay entirely up to you, try telling us something about yourself that you believe we cannot learn elsewhere in your application. Please limit yourself to fewer than 500 words.

I wrote an essay about a collection I have, but it's only around 220 words. It says to limit yourself to fewer than 500 words, but I have /way/ less than that. Should I make the essay longer? Or will that be okay?

Thank you!! <3

If you feel that it already conveys everything you want it to say, then it’s fine. Just do what works for you.

It’s better if something is short than for it to seem filled up with unnecessary details.

That’s what I was thinking. It’s nice to hear that from someone else though.

Thank you so much!

I think 200 words is not enough, don’t go crazy and add 300 more words, but you can add 50-60 words by adding additional info about the collection.
I don’t know what did you write. but you can tell about a significant object , why it is important to you, how did you get it ( long search, auction , gift) etc.
