Hello. Does anyone, preferably someone accepted or currently at Stanford, have an approach they think works for the questions on the Stanford Supplement? Thanks.
There is no strategy. Just write about things that are personal and unique to you.
Then… Hope you get lucky.
I actually just finished my Stanford application, so I can offer my perspective. It was the application where I was the most “real”, if that makes sense. I just understood that Stanford is difficult to get into, and I let that stress drop. At the end of the day, even the most qualified students will be rejected there. I presented my true self (complete with intellectual ability and goofiness) and just let it out there. This “true self” will inevitably vary per person. Just present yourself as you feel fit.
I know I am no recent acceptance or anything special, but I hope this will help a little bit at least. Good luck with your application!
Thanks @AceSquad23 I agree that those “real” essays are usually the best. That’s why I prefer open-ended essays like the ones for Harvard and Yale that allow you to just write about anything. I don’t like “Why x” because I feel like they’re more of research assignments. Trying not to sound like everyone else becomes difficult.
