Alright. So Dartmouth is one of my top choice schools. I noticed that of all the Ivies I'm applying to, Dartmouth is the only one that does not even give an option to a supplemental essay (which I think is kind of weird).

I have it done, and I want to send it. However I'd like for a current student, alumni, or adult to read it, I'd like to have your opinion about whether you think it is necessary. And please if you're in high school, don't bother responding, there's no need for the blind to lead the blind.

So if you are someone who is willing to read it (no need for edits, just whether or not you think I should send it) just respond to this, and I'll PM it over, thanks!

I'm pretty confused here. I filled out the Common App and it didn't seem like there was a supplemental essay, let alone the option. If we do need to write one, where do I find this? Thanks.

My son was just accepted ED to Dartmouth. There is a "supplemental essay", of sorts, but not for the applicant- it is the "peer recommendation", which is an essay. My son's friend wrote it for him and took it very seriously- his friend had a teacher at school look it over before he sent it. It was two pages long and had several anecdotes that illustrated my son's qualities.

well, my older brother got accepted to dartmouth a few years ago (went to UBC though because it's close to home)...I've been mainly using this site for college information, chances, SAT prep, etc. but recently I've been talking to him about it because he already did it once...if I ask he'll take a look at it for you.
