Supplemental Stuff (dance)

I'm trying to decide whether to send in a DVD of a dance I choreographed to MIT, UChicago, Harvey Mudd, Carnegie Mellon, or Cornell.

I've danced for about 14 years, with serious training for about 4 (I mean 20-30 hours a week). I'm just wondering how anyone thinks these colleges would treat an extra DVD. I mean, do you think they would even bother watching it?

Thanks!

If they have a procedure to send it (arts supplement or something similar) or if they state that they welcome extra material, then send it! If not, don't. Usually with arts supplements, they get sent off to the relevant department (who can either put in a good word for you or not). So it can't hurt you to send it unless it's by not following directions.

For Mudd, send it with a hard copy of your application and resume if you aren't doing your application online.

Just mail the DVD. They encourage you to send anything your really want them to see. I sent them a CD with a video clip of a drumcorps performance I was in, some of my rocket stuff, and some pictures.
