Supplementary Materials

I have mailed Cornell two of my research papers. One is in biomedicine and one is in Mathematics. I am interested in biomechanical engineering.

The bio one is actually accepted for publishing in an international journal and I worked on it in MD Anderson (#1 Cancer center)

The other one is totally independent research. I found some flaws in the cartesian system and differential equations and devised a whole new chapter for mathematics (theory of vector curvatures). I designed a whole new plane which looks at each curve uniquely by transforming complicated curves into their equivalents.

Along with these, I have done a lot of research in physics and am working on a paper right now.

Do you think these will help my application by showing them how interested I am in math and science? I also have perfect SATII scores in math II and physics and perfect grades in AP Physics, IB higher level Math, AP Calc BC. etc. 4.0 unweighted GPA. I have only been i the US for 2.5 yrs. I came from in India; I did my 9th grade there and won a lot of national awards in 9th for math and science. My class rank was messed up a little because of the discrepancy of grades between here and India, but I still am in the top 5% of my class.
I got a recommendation from my research mentor (the Bio one).

I really really want to get into Cornell. I am an international applicant but I am NOT applying for financial aid. Does Cornell actually evaluate those papers I send in? Because I wish they really read my Math one, since I put a lot of effort into it (and it is something profound, in my opinion at least). Do you think I have a chance?

Thanks

someone reply?

please...

You sound genious like, however, did you ever hold leadership positions, do other extra curriculars, etc....

Yes, I have held 4 positions altogether.

President of Interact Club (A very active community service club)
VP of an Honor Society (Once again, very active)
Treasurer and equipment manager of badminton club (manage basically everything here)

I have over 300 community service hours. Active member of science fair and school's robotics club. Also, TA'ing for my physics teacher this year. She did my recs.

And then again, LOTS of research stuff. Essays were pretty good, according to me. Great teacher recs. Got an additional rec as well

Your in then.

I agree with CoolCalculator, you are definitely very qualified for Cornell. I think you have very good chances of making it in. I also think your status as an international will help you. Cornell has mostly in-state students. They are working very hard to improve their diversity. Being international will be a plus. Good luck.

Thank you, really appreciate it :)

Any other opinions are welcome also

Yeah, it would surprise me if you dont get in.

bbbbbumppppppp.... :)

in my uninformed opinion, they might not read the papers all to closely or maybe not at all depending on their length, but if they know that it's published that is going to look pretty nice

Back in my day....I remember a CALS adcom member saying that if you have any publications...they prefer you only send them abstract.

well there is an abstract on top of each.. so i guess they can just read that..

but man, I wish they would read my math...but it's ok, the abstract is fine too

thanks :)

anyone else?

as long as your math isnt fuzzy, I would say you have a great shot.

thank you :)
