There was an article that Finger Lakes wine may be hard to come by because they had so many visitors from the US that couldn’t travel overseas last summer that they drank it all on site. They also mentioned the bottle shortage being an issue.
I haven’t noticed anything, except the lack of COVID rapid tests and the fact that we’ve been waiting for Tesla batteries for our solar system for close to a year.
Mostly, I have gotten the things we want and need. I bought my new car 3 years ago, shortly before Covid and we love it. H has been putting off buying his car so he will continue waiting. (He doesn’t even know what he wants, so no rush at all.)
Our stores seems to have most items in stock and most of the things I want are coming on schedule and being delivered to the folks I want to have receive them.
My brother is remodeling my mom’s home and has been getting the things he wants/needs.
I recently ordered (I thought) 25 sheets of drafting film. One arrived. I thought I’d made a mistake, but checking it out, they are out of stock and won’t have any more till late January. I wonder if I ordered another 25 sheets if they’d send me one sheet again?
I ordered handkerchiefs for my husband and son-in-law from Neiman Marcus over a month ago. They aren’t here and NM has absolutely when (or if) they will be getting them in. Oh, well, I guess if I get them in April, I will just save them until next Christmas.
My mother used to knit a lot of presents, and it almost became a tradition for my uncle, aunt, and two cousins to get their gifts in March. They grew to really like getting an extra holiday in March, especially as their birthdays are all later in the year.
In the last year I’ve been making masks and sending them out ‘whenever’, although a lot of them have been holiday themed so I try to get those out before St. Patrick’s Day, 4th of July, and Halloween. Nice surprise.
